The Accent Nail Trend Is Alive and Well for Fall 2015
Lovers of fun nail looks who are over nail art (like, um, everyone), here's something for fall that's going to get you psyched: The accent nail is making a comeback. With crazy nail looks completely played out—that whole thing basically jumped the shark like Superman after a double espresso—we've been looking for something unboring to take its place for awhile. And we were psyched to see this weekend that two celebrities, Ashley Greene, and Allison Scagliotti, star of the new ABC Family show Stitchers, picked up what the Lauren B. team was putting down at spring 2016 New York Fashion Week with its two-accent nail look at the Sally LaPointe show. The idea is to give a nail or two something special, a stripe or a different color of nail polish, to make it stand out in the crowd. Think of it as your pièce de résistance, literally. It's the answer to all your fall manicure prayers. You can go frosted on a nail or two a la the LaPointe look, add a metallic line like Greene, or opt for color on only one digit like Scagliotti. Simply to pick a finger or two and do something a little "off." The best part? You don't have to have any special skills for this. Well, other than deciding what colors to pair together. But don't stress. Have fun and experiment, we say. That's what nail polish remover is for. And for Halloween, might we suggest a black manicure with an orange pinkie. It's not only perfect for the occasion, it's remarkably on-trend.
